In the between
by A. Birdy
"Not numb, not raw, not light, not deep- just caught In the hush between waking and sleeping. I am not missing. I am not found. I'm the space in the silence that doesn't make sound. Moments blink. I do not. I linger like breath in a room long forgot. I taste the edge of something more. the door is there- I feel it's breath, a murmur shaped like almost- death. no call to stay, no call to cross, just this soft non-answer gray. and in it I become unformed- not healed, not harmed, just vaguely warm. just present in this pause Divine."
